The Waking Analysis

The poem’s structure let the same line repeat several times. By repeating the same lines several times, the lines that have been repeated become emphasized. In this poem, one of the lines that are repeated is: “I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.” In this line, I can notice that he has a boring or a meaningless life. I think that waking up to sleep means that he wakes up because he has to, but he would rather sleep forever. Also the other sentence he repeats is: “I learn by going where I have to go.” I think this means that he learns things from experiences, but the experiences that it is required for him.
